SoCalREN Public Agency Programs offer cash incentives to help their network bring energy efficiency projects within financial reach. Eligible equipment includes HVAC, HVAC controls, interior lighting, exterior lighting, retro-commissioning, building envelope, heat pumps, pumping, and process optimization, and more!

Who’s using these incentives?

Several enrolled agencies are already working on energy efficiency projects with SoCalREN incentives (but don’t worry, we’ve got enough for you too!). The City of Walnut, a small city in eastern Los Angeles County, is working with SoCalREN on a lighting project made possible by SoCalREN incentives. “The SoCalREN team has done excellent work identifying projects. They work quickly and accommodate the City’s needs to ensure that we are able to utilize this exciting incentive opportunity,” said Melissa Barcello, the City of Walnut Deputy Community Services Director who is spearheading the project. With SoCalREN’s support, The City of Walnut will earn an estimated $27,186 in incentives, save 50,966 kWh and 1,167 therms annually on their facility’s energy bill, and save over $15,000 each year. It’s not too late for your agency to find a project that works for you to achieve similar savings!

How do I get SoCalREN’s cash incentives for a project I’m completing this year?

First things first, you must be an enrolled SoCalREN public agency. If you aren’t enrolled yet, the first stepin our quick and easy process is to sign up at socalren.org/join. For public agencies already enrolled in SoCalREN, all you need to do is contact your SoCalREN project manager and let them know you are interested. Your project manager can help you determine the best project for you, how to maximize your cash incentives, and how to bring your energy efficiency project within financial reach!

What types of projects are eligible?

Heat pumps, circulating block heaters, LED tube and high bay lighting, HVAC economizer controls, and more are eligible. All these measures are easy for your agency’s facility or maintenance staff to install. Any procurement/installation method is eligible! Additionally, other measures including HVAC, interior lighting, exterior lighting, retrocommissioning, building envelope, pumping, and process optimization may be eligible.

Ask your SoCalREN Project Manager to walk you through eligible energy efficiency upgrades.
