The Golden State is known for its love of innovation as the world’s fourth-largest economy, and there’s no question why Californians love heat pumps. This highly efficient technology is rapidly becoming the new industry standard for comfortable, year-round heating and cooling. And this upcoming spring, an exciting new statewide effort aims to help accelerate that transition!
From April 11–19, 2026, the California Heat Pump Partnership (CAHPP) will host the state’s inaugural Heat Pump Week, a first-of-its-kind statewide activation to accelerate the adoption of highly efficient heat pumps in California by bringing together contractors, builders, manufacturers, utilities, policymakers, community organizations, homeowners, and renters. Through practical education, hands-on demonstrations, and a highly skilled workforce, Heat Pump Week is designed to build awareness and accessibility of heat pump technology among consumers and contractors, and showcase California’s leadership to create healthy, affordable, efficient, and climate-friendly homes and businesses.
Help us bring Heat Pump Week to life by hosting or participating in an event, sharing heat pump testimonials with your community, or spreading the word through newsletters and social media!
Heat Pump Week will feature a series of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events across the state, including flagship convenings in San Francisco (April 13), Sacramento (April 17), and Los Angeles (April 18), alongside dozens of community activations in partnership with contractors, manufacturers, distributors, utilities, and local governments. To get involved in one of the flagship events, please fill out the campaign form.
The campaign is integrated with the state’s marketing and electrification education platform, The Switch Is On, and will connect homeowners with qualified contractors, incentives, and trusted resources while offering opportunities to explore all-electric appliances and hear from community members who have made the switch. Contractors and industry professionals can participate in trainings, product demonstrations, and networking events, as well as access tools to grow their businesses—like The Switch Is On’s Pro Network—and showcase their expertise to customers seeking heat pump installations.
Ahead of Heat Pump Week, CAHPP also recently launched Wall Whisperer, a statewide marketing campaign to engage and educate customers and contractors. Wall Whisperer portrays heat pumps and the contractors who install them as the stars of the show, delivering comfort, efficiency, and peace of mind. In a fun mockumentary-style format, it follows a first-time homeowner couple navigating HVAC and water heating repairs. Wall Whisperer will be amplified through paid and earned media, influencer storytelling, and a broad network of stakeholders to deliver millions of targeted digital impressions across California households in priority audiences. We encourage you to share the campaign with your networks, and those interested in promoting Wall Whisperer can get involved through the campaign form.
As California works toward its goal to install six million heat pumps by 2030, Heat Pump Week and Wall Whisperer are supercharging that effort by raising consumer awareness, supporting contractor capacity, and showcasing the real-world benefits of heat pumps.
