SoCalREN held its third annual Future Green Leaders Summit (FGLS) on November 17, 2025 at the historic Enterprise Building in San Bernardino. A project of SoCalREN’s workforce education and training program, the FGLS educates middle school children about sustainability and energy conservation by getting them out of the classroom and immersing them in hands-on, interactive workshops, performances, and dynamic group learning. This exciting day exposed 500 youth from Title 1 schools to careers in the clean energy and sustainability fields, introducing them to concepts new to many of them. With dynamic speeches by the Mayor of San Bernardino, the Superintendent of San Bernardino School District, and many others, the youth were pumped up and ready to learn. Workshops included a climate cooldown game, 3D modeling to create energy efficient homes, an energy battle with competing energy sources, and many others. A video recap of the day can be seen here.
