From our inception as a state commission in 1979 and our official founding as the nonprofit Local Government Commission (LGC) in 1982, to our rebrand in 2022, we have known that local, regional, and statewide innovation happens when communities can define their own challenges and opportunities. And so we’ve cultivated and supported the leaders who have a vision for their community and equipped them with the guidance, resources, and connections to bring it to life.
